Please Share Your Career Trajectory and Help Me Further Research into Women in Dance!
As part of my doctoral program at the University of Southern California, I am conducting a research study on women entrepreneurship in dance.
I am looking to understand how women in dance manage their work, support themselves, and stay creative in a field that can be unpredictable.
The aim of this study is to identify what helps and hinders women who work dance and to offer guidance to policy makers.
Eligibility Criteria
You are eligible to participate if you:
- Self-identify as a woman
- Are 30 years old or over
- Work in the field of dance in any capacity
- AND meet at least one of the following:
- Run your own business
- Work as a freelancer
- Organize dance-related projects or events
- Consider dance your primary professional or creative focus
- AND you do not work exclusively as employees for someone else (for example, full-time company dancers or staff instructors).
What Participation Involves
If you choose to take part in this study, you will be asked to participate in a one-on-one interview and some creative exercises. This will take about 1 hour of your time either online or in person.
I will publish anonymous, general results in my thesis and a presentation. Participants will not be identified in the results.
Your participation is completely voluntary. All responses will be kept confidential, and your identity will not be included in any publications or presentations.
